Celebrity Silhouette - Boston Nova Scotia

Our check in for boarding the ship was a breeze. We got to our room, unpacked, did the safety drill, then went for a swim and a hot-tub. Dinner at the Grand Cuvée dining room, then to the theatre to listen to Antonio Salci with a mesmerizing piano performance accompanied by the Silhouette orchestra. Dale had his first talk at 8pm in the Sky Lounge, which was a bit of a different venue than usual. Anyway, it went well, then we went back to the theatre to listen to the rest of Antonio Salci's performance. Such talent!

Friday, we anchored at Rockland, Maine. We tendered ashore, then did a lovely walk along the harbour boardwalk. At the end of the walk was the Sail, Power & Steam Museum. I only stayed half as long as Dale, then went for a walk along the main street. It was small, but had many lovely artistic shops. We met back on the ship for lunch, then had a relaxing afternoon. After dinner, the headliner in the theatre was Magician David Williamson, followed by a presentation on mammals by Carin Bondar, our naturalist onboard.

We were in Canada on Saturday, at Halifax, N.S. Dale did a talk in the morning, then Bill and Betty Ricketts picked us up and took us out to their place in Waverley for a lovely lunch and a great visit. Their home is beautiful and in such a picturesque setting on the lake. The weather was a bit cool, but sunny, so we sat out on their deck after lunch to finish catching up. It was a fun and relaxing day.

When we got back on board, we had dinner, followed by a comedian, Jason Blanchard in the theatre. After that, the naturalist gave a presentation on sea birds up in the Sky Lounge, then back to the Grand Foyer for a 60's show put on by the very talented cast of singers and dancers. Afterwards, it was back to the theatre for the magician David Williamson to present an amazing show on card tricks. It was projected on the very large screen and we were totally baffled by all of his tricks. It was a late night, but so worth it!

We arrived in Sydney, N.S. on Sunday to another beautiful day. We did a lovely walk on the boardwalk around the shore, then we walked through town and popped into the old Bank of Montreal building/museum, circa 1817; then on to St. George Anglican Church, circa 1785. Back at the dock, we got a picture of the giant fiddle. After another fabulous dinner, we watched the Production Show - Life. The singers, dancers, acrobats and aerialists were again spectacular. Dale did his talk after that, then we went back to watch the show again - it was that good!

Monday was a nice quiet sea day. We went to hear Carin with her very interesting talk about what humans can learn from animals. Edward Quan was the destination speaker in the theatre telling us all about what to see and do in Québec City. The entertainment headliner was Tricia Kelly, a vocalist and impressionist. Then it was back to the Sky Lounge for Dale to do his lecture.
