Celebrity Summit - Panama Canal - 17 April to 9 May, 2025

 Celebrity Summit Cruise - Ft. Lauderdale/Panama Canal/Vancouver 

 

We had a lovely visit with Joel Tuesday night before our direct flight from Vancouver to Miami. We spent the night in Ft. Lauderdale before boarding the Celebrity Summit on Thursday, April 17th. The evening’s entertainment was an introduction to Peter Vawter (violinist) and Tommy Proulx (alto and soprano sax). Both were extremely talented and we looked forward to their individual shows later in the trip.

 

At Sea - Dale did his first talk in the morning, after Jacob Marvin who is an historian and archaeologist. His talk was on the history of the first explorers to the region, which was very interesting and informative. The evening’s entertainer was Reuel Meditz (pianist).

 

Saturday was our first stop in George Town, Grand Cayman, where we took a taxi/bus to Seven Mile Beach. It was an absolutely fantastic day with great weather, a light breeze, and a gorgeous beach and sea. We spent as much time as we could in the pristine water before heading back to the ship. The evening’s entertainer was Sean Kent (comedian).

 

At sea – Easter Sunday. Dale was the first speaker this morning, followed by Jacob – history was never this entertaining in school! We got all dressed up for dinner as it was our first formal night and the evening’s entertainment was a full show by Peter Vawter.

 

Monday, we had a full day in Cartagena, Columbia. Again, the weather was lovely and we had a nice walk about and visited the cute little zoo before heading back to the ship. The evening’s entertainment was a Production Show – Broadway Cabaret - featuring the Celebrity Singers and the Orchestra. Amazing talent.

 

We arrived in Colón, Panama on Tuesday. It was a very muggy day, and although it was threatening rain, we managed to do a walk about without using our umbrella. Later in the afternoon we were able to change cabins, so we didn't have to walk through the crew area. The evening’s entertainer was a performer we had seen before, Vinny Grosso, and he was just as entertaining as we remembered.
