Cabin E215 - 8th floor - partial view
We had a nice easy flight from Vancouver to LA and stayed overnight at the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro, before boarding the Grand Princess. Our first five days were at sea, so Dale did his talks and we enjoyed the wonderful food and entertainment. We started with a Vocal Impressionist, Tricia Kelly. Second on the agenda was Instrumentalist, Miles Leon. Next was an Elton John tribute by Jeffrey Allen followed by a second show by Tricia Kelly in the Vista Lounge. The first Production Show was called Born to Dance, which had been delayed a couple of days due to energetic seas. On Day 5 we watched the movie Wicked then saw the later performance of The Mighty Quinn. The next performer was instrumentalist David Meyer who wowed us on his Xylosynth.
When we reached Hawaii, our first stop was in Hilo on the big island where we visited the Kilauea Caldera and the Macadamia Nut Farm - yum! The evenings Production Show was Stardust.
Our next stop was Oahu, where we got to go snorkelling in Turtle Bay Canyon, and yes we saw turtles and lots of fish. Showtime featured a Folkloric Performance by the Hatau Lillia Makanoe dance studio.
In Kauai we visited the Allerton & McBride Tropical Gardens - an excellent tour and a very relaxing way to spend our anniversary. The evenings entertainment was Jared Freiburg & The Vagabonds.
We then had a lovely beach day at Wailea Beach in Maui. Showtime was Comedy Vocal Impressionist Jason Neistadt.
It was then time to head back to LA via Ensenada, Mexico. Dale resumed his talks and we resumed enjoying the onboard entertainment, the first of which was the Production Show - British Invasion. Michael Minor was an amazing ventriloquist/singer and the next day featured Mark Gibson mentalist/magician. Vocalist Lovena Fox from Vancouver did a lovely show in the Theatre followed by a new show from Michael Minor in the Vista Lounge. The evening show before arriving in Ensenada was the final Production Show - Sweet Soul Music followed by Mark Gibson with a new show in the Vista Lounge. Our last show was a vocalist Yaniv Zarif, who spoke 32 languages and sang in many of them. His funniest song listed all the names of bathrooms in many languages.
Spent a few hours in the airport in LA on our way back to Vancouver and a much anticipated visit with Joel before catching the ferry home.
