We had an unbelievable day in Hobart at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Our guide was so knowledgeable about all the animals here; we learned so much. The Tasmanian Devils were so adorable, it was hard to believe that they were so vicious. And who would believe that the chubby little Wombats could reach a speed of 40km? It was so fun feeding the kangaroos. I was a bit nervous at first as we do know how strong they are, but we were cautioned to only pet them on their chest as they cannot reach it as well with their front legs and they do love a good scratch. They also had a veterinary hospital that they operated 6 days a week, with a 24/7 phone service. What an amazing place.
We had lunch back on the ship, then traipsed over to the Anzac Memorial which is dedicated to their Veterans. It was a beautiful park and monument.
