Celebrity Summit Cruise - Iceland - Days 1-3

We boarded the ship in Reykjavik, got settled in and found our way around. The featured artist in the theatre was Leslie McDonel, who did a great job covering several famous female vocalists.

Our first port of call was Isafjordur. We walked around the old town and found a fascinating museum of artifacts from early settlements. They had many vintage accordions, fishing implements, tools and household goods. We also watched a film on their fishing practices which had been followed for over a thousand years – scary and treacherous. It ended up being a lovely day with some sunny periods and +16°C. The show in the theatre was Broadway Cabaret, featuring the ship’s vocalists and the orchestra – great tunes.

Our next port of call was Akureyri which was a much bigger town than Isafjordur, but not as large as Reykjavik. We got a map to do a recommended walk with points of interest along the way. It ended up being over 6k, so we were very glad when the ship came into view. The featured artist in the theatre was Vinny Grosso, a comedian/magician.
