Rome/Civitavecchia, Italy

The trip went smoothly and we spent our first night at the Hilton Garden Centre by the airport.  Today we rented a car and made a fun stop at the Santa Severa Castle.  Here is a great site with some of the history.

We then continued on to our B&B in Civitavecchia - Scirocco Rooms.  Paolo is a superb host and most accommodating - you just have to ask!  He even went out and bought us a kettle and 2 mugs for tea.  We stayed here on our last trip (bathroom across the hall), but this time the new apartments were ready and we had our own bathroom.

We have the car for the day tomorrow, so more exploring around the area.
