Vimy April 10

Too windy to fly, so off to Beaumont-Hamel Cemetery.  Such a sad story of the death of over 700 Newfoundlanders on July 1st, 1916.  Sons, Fathers, Brothers, Husbands, Uncles, Friends . . .
Our tour guide told the story with such emotion, we were close to tears the whole time.

Then we were back to the Artois Expo in Arras to meet up with cousin Tim & Teresa's lovely daughter Jennifer.  We had a wonderful visit before having to run off to renew our car rental.  Afterwards was a celebration dinner of a whole roasted pig, baked potatoes and salad - oh yes, and champagne of course.
