Vimy April 16 - Happy Easter

A day of sorting and packing up as we prepare to leave the Farm House.  Some stuff will go with the Nieuports to Greenwood and too much will come back to Comox with us.  Our suitcases are at least 10 pounds heavier.

A quick mid-afternoon trip into Arras for lunch, as not much is open near us.  Even in Arras things were fairly quiet.  We popped into the Town Hall, which you see is behind us in the photo.  A very large and beautiful building.

Our last dinner at the Farm House.  Delicious as usual - we started with pâtés de foie gras and there was a real ritual with it.  First you sprinkle on some very coarse salt and some pepper.  Then you put it on some very fine toast with some sort of berry jam.  Then of course, you drink a very sweet wine with it.  By this time, I am too full for dinner which was a kind of Moroccan stew and for dessert, an Easter cake that was a chocolate chicken in a nest of ice cream.  Yum!

But then came the best part of all . . . Regis is the talent of Asterix - a very popular French Cartoon.  He gave us each a personalized drawing and one of his books.  We were all overwhelmed and honoured at his kindness and generosity.  A treasure we will cherish.
