End of Cruise

Hello cherished friends and family;

2 weeks aboard has now come to an end and this has been an epic voyage with warm memories to last a long time.  Laurel sang in the Pop Choir today and the crew put on a fabulous talent show as well.
My 8 talks were very well received and I had a large following of both ‘plane nuts’, aviation experts, and more often, none of the above - that simply enjoyed the story telling and the presentations - so mission accomplished.

The friends at our dinner table, 6 of us at a round table, were a riot to share life stories with and they will be forever in our hearts and minds.

Ping pong was a rush with many good players - with the champ - Brian from Australia - a 65 yr old super fit, chef/butcher who eventually butchered me in finals.  We must have played 40 games with us sharing wins until the last 7 when he won 1 out 3 in the first set, then beat me 2 straight in the next 2 sets.  A great athlete and sportsman.

In New Zealand, we found the people wonderful and insanely fit.  We climbed a mountain in the morning and huffed and puffed the whole way. On the way down, numerous folks were running up the stairs and steps along the trail - even some Moms with a toddler strapped to their chests.  A great country that we would love to spend more time exploring.

Laurel’s highlight was achieved as we went to Hobbiton where they filmed the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.  The sets were incredible even for a non-fan.  The detail, imagination and magical hills and valleys with ponds, gardens, lakes and of course 45 unique round doored homes.  It was a fun day and worth the trip.

As I type we are packed and awaiting our last supper on board.  We sail by the Sydney opera house in the morning and will visit our friends for 3 days before returning home to Canada.

We miss everyone and look forward to getting back.

This adventure has been more than we had hoped and the entertainment, food, new friends, and new lands have been quite literally well beyond our imaginations.

We feel truly blessed and look forward to showing you just a few of the many wonderful scenes from this story.

Love to all and see you soon!

Dale and Laurel, (Dad and Mom)
