Day 2 - Leavenworth

Day 2 - We spent the morning walking around Leavenworth (thanks to Gary and Holly for the info.).  It is a beautiful old mining/forestry town that has reinvented itself into a classic Bavarian village.  They had the quaintest little shops with so many neat and different items, that we could have spent longer had we not been on a bit of a schedule.  The river walk was spectacular - the land had been donated to the city back in 1973.  The valley setting would have been idyllic had it not been for the smoke from the forest fires.
We stopped for supper in Wallace where they had a lovely picnic area, with mining artifacts commemorating the firemen who lost their lives fighting the 'Great Fires of 1910'.  Tonight we are at 'Jim and Mary's RV Park' outside of Missoula, MT.
