Vimy April 18

Our last day, so we packed in what we could.  First a visit to Hill 70 and the new monument there.

Then a stop at the Lens 14-18 Commemorative Museum, where again, the enormity of WW1 really touches you.

On our way to Naours, we passed by the ruins of a church in Saint Nazaire, with a poignant story.

And then took a slight detour to see the remaining towers of the Saint Eligius Abbey.

And now on to our destination - the subterranean city of Naours.

Part of one of the largest caverns.
A map of the extensive tunnels and rooms.

And one more stop at the Faubourg d'Amiens Cemetery and the Arras Flying Services Memorial.
