Merry Christmas from the Erharts
Hello Dear friends and relatives.
This time brings a great opportunity to
reflect on our many gifts of love and friendship. Even though many of you we
don’t get to see enough, you are often in our thoughts.
A quick recap is always good – so here
goes. Dale has been immersed in
the Vimy Flight project having acquired a WW1 replica bi-plane. The plan is to
join his teammates in an historic flying roadshow to honour and commemorate the
sacrifice of Canadians in the Great War - hard work, some frustrations but
mostly a broad smile of satisfaction in being immersed in such a significant
and adventurous undertaking.
Speaking is a big part of this and his Toastmaster work is helpful.
Laurel has enjoyed the summer with her greenhouse
and all that it entails. Her time
in the garden is so satisfying and we all enjoy the bounty of her results.
The biggest pleasure for us both is
spending bi-weekly time with our Grandson, Benjamin who is now 18 months old
and full of excitement, curiosity, endless energy and appetite. It is such a gift to have him only 8
minutes away and we are forever grateful. Adam and Natalie are doing such a
great job in raising this precious bundle of excitement. Shopping for Christmas is
especially fun this year.
Joel is always a pleasure
to connect with and Dale has had the most opportunity to drop by Vancouver whilst travelling beyond. We look forward to plenty of ping pong,
pool and just hanging out with our fascinating animation, cartoonist son at Christmas.
Adam’s business continues to thrive as he
dives into even deeper and more sophisticated means of providing marketing
services to his clients. I love to
hear of his challenges and successes as he builds his business from home . He
is still learning to balance family time and work. Natalie has been his stalwart supporter and guide in this
tricky journey.
Laurel’s folks continue to enjoy life in
the valley and have finally outsourced lawn care, freeing them for the stuff
they can handle and enjoy. Although Vera still has great hearing challenges,
she is never short of a smile and keeps up with her prolific vegetable garden
and all the flowers around the yard.
2017 promises to be a busy year as we head
to Vimy in April for the 100th
anniversary and flyover, followed by an extensive Cross Canada journey
from mid April until late September heading from East coast to West. If you are in Ottawa over Canada Day,
you’ll find us there and we also plan to celebrate Laurel’s birthday on July 3rd.
For now, we give thanks for the wonderful
gifts of life and love that we have been blessed to share. Our wish to you and your family is that
you find the meaning and spirit of Christmas that fulfills and enriches you
throughout the coming year.
Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2017.
Love,
Dale & Laurel
