It was a fabulous weekend for Nadine and Noel's wedding and celebration. They had a wonderful reception at Van Dusen Gardens Visitor's Centre in Vancouver. What a beautiful venue.

We had some time beforehand, so stopped in at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church for a wonderful jazz vesper service. http://www.coastaljazz.ca/venue/st_andrews_wesley_united_church
All in all, a lovely evening.
We woke up Canada Day in true Canadian fashion with our Tim Horton's coffee (Joel doesn't drink coffee very often, so he didn't have all the paraphernalia necessary to accomodate our morning addiction).
We then took a leisurely stroll across the Burrard Street Bridge for a lovely walk in Vanier Park, before taking the water taxi over to Granville Island. Things were hopping there! We had lunch at The Stock Market (soup of course) and listened to a jazz band called 4 by 4, then wandered around listening to several buskers and poking our noses into many unique shops. We were delighted to find a charming and original gift for Katy and Clark for their wedding at the end of this month - no hints!
The parade was a riot of colour and very fitting for Granville Island.

Another parade! This one downtown - a bit bigger than Granville Island!
The highlight of the day was our visit to Canada Place and the Fly Over Canada exhibition - and of course, the spectacular fireworks afterward. What a day!
