And challenging it was! We ventured past Scouts Lookout, which is the usual place for people to reach and take their pictures, then turn back. We got a bit braver for a while and made it out to the saddle, before losing our mojo and feeling very mortal. It was still spectacular, over and above all the others and we were glad to at least have made it that far. As usual, pictures don't do it justice (and certainly don't show how nervous we were!).
The Riverwalk trail in the afternoon was mild by comparison, but all we could handle after the morning.
