Happy New Year

Well, another year has come and gone in a flash. Christmas went by so fast it was a blur. I joined Dale in Cairo on Dec. 20th and we fit in a few golf games at his home away from home, the JW Marriott. David and Jacqueline Seneshen hosted 28 people for dinner on Christmas Eve, so we felt very honoured to be included. It was a lovely evening, but I have to mention the food. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, even perogies (etc.). Truly a memorable dinner, topped off with trifle and gingerbread cookies with icing. We also got to go to their church for a carol sing then sat out on their balcony to enjoy the lovely evening.

The next couple of days were quiet then we were off to El Gouna on the Red Sea on the 28th. The weather was very unsettled so we had some time sitting by the pool then it rained and cooled down enough to do some walking around. New Years Eve was another grand affair put on by Dale's client. I had planned on being sound asleep by 12:01, but I think the clocks jumped ahead as they read 2:30 by the time we got the lights out. Due to this time warp, New Years Day was very slow.
I returned to Cairo on the 2nd thinking that Dale was following right behind, but his schedule didn't accommodate our plans and he had to stay put in El Gouna. As Adam was also out and about flying around Egypt, I changed my ticket and came back to Cyprus. No more lazy days by the pool - back to laundry and reality. It has been raining here on and off, but with enough sunshine to keep the spirits up (not quite warm enough to sit by the pool though).
Hope all is well with you and yours and that you had a wonderful Christmas.
All the best for a healthy and happy 2011.
Love,
Laurel (and Dale)
