Tuesday I had to go shoe shopping for the Gala on Saturday. An onerous job I know, but I managed (and very well too I might add). Wednesday we were invited up to the village for cocktails to start off the bridge and Greek lesson season. The quiche was so good I skipped dinner. Hazel also arrived for a visit from the UK. Thursday was our usual village bridge followed by drinks and fruit and goodies at the local Kafenio.
Friday we were out to the 'Get In' in Mandria for Chinese food. It started out as just a Cafe, but the chef from the Timi Village Inn moved over there and now Mandria has more restaurants than Kouklia - good ones too. Then we were over to Hazel's for bridge. She hosted since she is dog-sitting and didn't want to leave them too much.
Saturday we went for a motorcycle ride and met up with Hazel, John, Eileen & Josh, Rosemary and Jane for coffee at the Timi Beach Bar. I had to get out of my gear fast, as it is still very warm here, even with the breeze.

We had to fit in a nap as we were out to the Hospice Gala Dinner and Dance at the Annabelle Hotel in Paphos. It was a very posh affair - Black Tie. Dale managed to borrow a dinner jacket as his is back in Comox and it fit very well. He did have the rest of the trimmings and I was very comfortable in my dress from Adam and Natalie's wedding and my new shoes of course. The dinner was lovely and we did get some dancing in to wear some of it off.

Sunday we joined Peter and Linda at their Church in Coral Bay as we were also joining them for a fund raising luncheon in Peyia. Beverley hosted at her house with all the fine linens and trappings. What a delicious lunch - and it lasted us for the rest of the day, which was great since we had about an hour at home then off again. We picked up Hazel then met Jonathan and Maureen and their company, as well as Tim and Susie at the amphitheatre in Tala. The band was doing a tribute to Dire Straits and did a wonderful job of it. They played everything from the most obscure to the most popular and even did a couple of dance numbers at the end. It was a beautiful venue overlooking Paphos and the sea. It did cooldown quite a bit with the breeze, so I guess now we will have to start bringing jackets with us for evenings.

Monday was much the same as last week except that I also fit in a Pilates class, so we were off to Hector's again after bridge and dinner to see the new drummer. As expected he couldn't compete with Will, but hopefully he will smooth out as time goes on. It is now Tuesday and the most exciting thing today was our dentist appointments, so I now have a bit of time to catch up before we are out with Peter and Linda tomorrow for their anniversary. The boys are going kite-surfing then we are out for lunch and in the evening we are off to Emba to see the play 'The Ideal Husband' (what are the chances?). Then we have Jonathan and Maureen's party on Thursday and whatever we can fit in on the weekend.
Take care and we'll let you know if anything exciting comes up.
Love,
Laurel
