Laneia Walk - October 10, 2009

Grape Arbor & Olive Press

These pictures don't do it justice, but it is worth a try to show you the gorgeous walk we were on. Our walking group has started up again after a hiatus over the summer; most people find it too hot to walk in the summer (us included). Laneia is about 20 minutes north of Lemesos, which is about half an hour east of Paphos. It is on the way to the Troodos Mountains, up in the hills. The weather has still been fantastic - around 29C every day, with hardly a cloud in the sky.
We usually stop for lunch at a local taverna after the walk. The Laneia Taverna was a lovely spot framed in greenery looking out over a quaint little artisans' shop. As a matter of fact, the entire village was a quaint, cosy little place and we loved traipsing around after lunch. The meze (a buffet of many local dishes) was also wonderful and the beer was cold. What more could you ask for?

How lovely! it is great to keep up with your travels, we've had a great summer but the autumn leaves are just about past their prime and we are planning to head back south in a couple of weeks.

Hi Guys! So great to see you are still checking in on the blog. I am in Cairo and just checking on Laurel's handiwork. We miss seeing you both and look forward to the next opportunity to pick up right where we left off. Hope all is well with you both. Dale
