Blessings have been pouring down on us over the last two days! Rain, rain and more rain. Never enough to fill the dams, but all is welcome and celebrated. And yesterday, Hazel and I were having lunch outside at one of our village's newest and best Tavernas (Maria's) when the sky opened. Hazel was puppy-sitting, so we didn't want to go inside, and opted to open one of the very large sun umbrellas. It was wonderful sitting outside with the rain pouring all around us. And the stuffed aubergines (eggplant to us Canadians) and salads were marvellous. Maria even offered to drive us home, but we decided to

chance the slight reprieve and started off. I had worn flip-flops as the weather had looked inclement before starting up to the village centre, and I was ever so glad since I was wading through ankle deep puddles (and feeling like a kid). We didn't quite make it half way, when the rain started again in earnest. Luckily, Agathi was driving by and offered us a lift, which we did accept. The people here are so lovely.
Today, the sun is out again, which was handy as I had the car in to get serviced today, and went for a huge walk down to the harbour and back. I even popped into some catacombs along the way -

what a great place. Two coffees later and some shopping and the car was ready. They recommended a place to get the nail puncture on the tire fixed, and it was done on the spot. Service with a smile - very pleasant.
So now, I will pull a few weeds (have to get something done today) and pack up a few things for a quick trip to Cairo to see Dale and hopefully catch up with Neil and MJ.
Take care and thanks for all the rain prayers - please do keep them coming.

Love,
Laurel
